Lipstick Makes Everything Better

About Me December 12, 2011

Hi! I’m Arden Elizabeth. This is a little about me…

I write because I have to write. There are stories in me that I must release or I might explode from the pressure of housing them. I look at life much differently than most people. I feel a need to share my stories with other people. Maybe someone will learn from my life; maybe they won’t. But, I share nonetheless.

I over think almost everything. I analyzed The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne my junior year in high school and got every inch of symbolism correct in my analyzation. I’m pretty sure I haven’t stopped looking for symbolism and discerning its meaning since that moment. It’s a bad habit that drives most people crazy. I’m trying to tame it.

I’m athletic and graceful, yet a complete and total klutz. I can master almost any sport or dance routine you put before me and trip over a brick on an otherwise flat sidewalk.

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am a Tar Heel born, Tar Heel bred, and when I die I’ll be a Tar Heel dead. I’m tremendously proud of my time at this University and you’ll never catch me ever wearing anything Duke or N.C. State related.

I’m a daughter, friend, sister, reader, animal lover, cheerleader, and workout junkie. I love Mexican food and Cheese Its. I hate celery. I’m honest to a fault but can rarely spot a liar. I give my best to those I love and tend to see the best in others. I love being with people as much as I love being alone. I read Chick Lit and Fantasy Fiction. I talk too much but actually listen pretty well too. I’m a conundrum and an onion. I’m hard to get to know but, if you make the effort, I’m a gal worth knowing. If you’re my friend I will love you for life.

And, more than anything else, I’m a Jesus follower. I’m no particular denomination because I think the politics in each can be silly and ungodly. I hope you’ll see my heart for the Lord in this space. I’ll try to be real and raw while also being encouraging and hopeful. I believe Jesus died for my sins and on the third day rose from the dead so that I may live in eternity with Him (John 3:16). And, on the day I meet Him face-to-face, I hope He says, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23) And then I hope He hands me my own personal lion. I can’t wait to ride a lion!

Dear Arden

I read your pages about ministry and “about me” and I could have been reading my own thoughts! I set up my blog to basically do the same, share the thoughts and writings that I feel inspired to write and felt it was such a waste to keep them to myself when if even one person found it helpful then God was at work. It was so lovely to read your pages and see the similiarities.
Your pages have given me confidence to expand my own pages and be a little less “British” in expressing myself.
Thank you that you take the time to do this and be encouraged that your words are an encouragement.
Your sister in the UK

Honey! I love it! Too bad I can’t hear you say this to me because I’d love to be a little more British sounding. We Southern gals is big & bold though. :) Be bold & British.

I really like you – I mean it – REALLY like you; what you say, how you write, your passion, your smile (no, I am not a stalker!) His light SHINES through you and I am just slightly envious that you are doing something that my heart longs to do – influence and impact the lives of those who find you to be Christ CHASERS!

So, let’s see what He will do with this new connection. I’m ready for the ride! How about you?

Arden Says:

Haha – I’m ready once caffeinated! :)

Craig Groeschel said something that stuck with me the other day,”The fear of man is a snare but those who trust in the Lord will be saved.”
He didn’t say anything about the fear of women though.

Arden Says:

Hahaha – fear the woman scorned doesn’t make for great pulpit talk! :)

Hi Arden.. first off, I love your name! I just happened to stumble upon your blog while searching a photo of Joey Tribbiani (I think that whole ‘how-you-doin’-thing is kind of universal LOL). I started reading more and more and you are a great writer! So glad to hear you are a follower of Jesus Christ, as I am too! Looking forward to more of what’s in store. :)

Arden Says:

hahaha – I love Joey! In fact, I have a sister-in-law named Joey. I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog. I love writing on it and wish I could write more and more!
