Easy peasy children’s books were my books of choice in my Need to Read on WBTV this week. Check out the clip here.

I had a great time talking books with John Carter on WBTV Monday, March 25. I picked a few books with heroines full of sassy character as they easily share their stories with us. I know we ladies sometimes need to escape our own lives and get into a good book. I think you’ll enjoy these! Check out the link here.
Books I Recommended:
Vanity Fare by Megan Caldwell
Three Good Things by Wendy Francis
The Good Daughter by Jane Porter
We often wonder why me or do I deserve this or if God is a good God why does He allow so many bad things? I know I do. If you’re honest so do you. I hear the last one as an excuse for so many folks not to believe in God at all. And, in some ways, I get that.
But… As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9)
Looking back on her life journey so far, I know Nan Gray rests on the truth of God’s ways aren’t her ways. When tragedy upon tragedy came up on her though… well, it wasn’t so simple. The awesome thing about Nan is she chose to accept God’s will in her life and live in the freedom His grace and mercy provide.
Why does a good God allow for bad things? I don’t fully know. All I know is His ways are higher than mine and my test can become my testimony. So can yours. Read Nan’s story now and be encouraged that the world can be rotten but our God has overcome the world.
This link is the digital version. Nan’s story starts on page 22.
I got to talk about children’s books in the February 25, 2013 Need to Read segment on WBTV. These particular books were a bit more on the serious side but still had lots of fun interwoven in the stories. I hope you’ll enjoy reading them!

Monday, January 13, I decided to bring some haunting historical fiction for my Need to Read segment on WBTV. Each of these books showcases its own cast of flawed characters and are perfect for reading by a roaring fire.
I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I did! (And please forgive me for getting two out of the three authors’ names wrong. Huh! So unprofessional.)
Check out my review of these books here.
Oh my… narrowing down my favorite books I read in 2012 was h-a-r-d. I went with two that helped me be better in 2012 and one that was super fun.

I always have a great time on set with Mr. John Carter interviews me for the Need to Read. It’s because of John that I have the segment. He met me long ago and helped me get started on air. He reads more than any other person I know and always wants to showcase great books for his viewers.
He DOESN’T love when I bring in chick books. And that tends to happen. Luckily, I brought in children’s books for my segment December 10, 2012. Check it out here and remember to get your loved ones a great book for Christmas!
I love love love children’s books. I also love love love having children entertained and not in the middle of me trying to have adult time. (Kidding. Calm down, Mommy bloggers!) I talked about three fun children’s books in the November 19, 2012 Need to Read segment on WBTV. Check out the link here.
Books Recommendations:
Let’s Have a Tree Party by David Martin and John Manders
No Bears by Meg McKinlay and Lelia Rudge
Demolition by Sally Sutton and Brian Lovelock
My parents could rarely keep up with the number of books I read on a regular basis. So, I got into the habit of re-reading books. It’s something that’s continued to this day.
I find reading books again is similar to visiting an old friend; or watching a movie again and again. Maybe more like watching a movie again and again.
Check out the books off my shelf that I’m reading again soon during my Need to Read segment on WBTV Monday, November 5, 2012.
I wanted to promote books that I don’t normally read for my Need to Read segment September 24, 2012. The ones I chose have a little mystery, a little love, and a lot of snuggle up with someone cute in them. Check out the clip here and get to reading!
The Secrets of Mary Bowser by Lois Leveen
The Malice of Fortune by Michael Ennis
Brooklyn Zoo: The Education of a Psychotherapist by Darcy Lockman
